The early part of the day
School is open at 8.55am and all children are expected to be in school by 9.00am so that the register can be taken.
The teaching time in a normal week is 25 hours. This does not include registration and lunch breaks, but does include our daily act of worship which we consider to be an integral part of our teaching.
Parents are asked to wait with children in the playground in the designated areas until the morning bell when the class teachers will come to collect the class.
Children in Years One and Two have two playtimes during the day, one at 10.30 and one at 2.20. Children in the Reception class share the afternoon playtime.
Children are able to have a drink and a snack before the morning playtime. Milk may be purchased on a termly basis through the school office. We participate in the Free Fruit for Schools initiative which means that children are offered different types of fruit and vegetables each day. Children may bring their own snack to eat at school but we encourage children to bring in a fruit or vegetable-based snack and do not allow sweets, crisps or biscuits as we are trying to encourage the children to be healthy eaters.
The school day ends at 3.15. Children are to be collected from the door nearest their cloakroom. If you are unavoidably delayed, please let the school know.
We have some clubs which are run after school by members of the school staff; these are: singing, science and maths and computer. In the summer term a football coach comes to run a football club.
This is the before/after school and holiday club which is held in the school hall. For more details about the club please contact Miss Donna Richards on 07952 871083.
