Teaching Assistant : Mrs Tania Prole
It is with deep sadness that our classroom doors have now closed due to the developing situation of COVID-19. In order to ensure a smooth transition for the children, I will continue to stay in contact with you all via the Scholarpack communications system.
By now, your child will have received a home-learning pack with activities that can be done while at home. These activities have been selected by the Early Years team with reference to specific areas of learning. Each fortnight, the Early Years team will email a new plan detailing activities to do at home.
It is a very difficult and uncertain time for us all and I am aware of how challenging the upcoming weeks may be. Please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Oatlands team via the admin email account should you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
I hope to see you soon.

This term we have been working with Mrs Dawson, a P.E. specialist from St. Aidan's on alternate Mondays. This term we will be focusing in on Gymnastics.
Even though March was a short month in school, we still managed to do lots of exciting things. We enjoyed Science Week and carried out a range of different experiments. The massive bubbles were fabulous. Sport Relief day saw us being as active as we could - we had to run round the playground 10 times! We also did some dance moves with Go Noodle. We have still been carrying on with our normal phonics and maths work.
Mrs Dawson has been teaching us some different rolling techniques.
What a busy month we have had! This half term we are learning about Traditional Tales and alternative versions of stories. The children have enjoyed drama and acting out their favourite stories in the role play area. We are decorating wooden spoons to create our own characters. This has been an exciting art project for the children. This month we have also enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year where we made paper lanterns and paper chains to decorate the classroom. In PE, we performed a traditional Chinese dragon dance which the children loved! As a school, we raised money for Australia Wires Charity by having a non-uniform day. Thank you for your support, we really appreciate it! The outdoor has been completed and the children have been exploring each area of learning whilst having lots of fun. In maths, we have been learning number bonds to 5 and 10 practically and through recording number sentences. As part of the New Year, we have been discussing our dreams and goals through Jigsaw Genie. What a busy month we have had!
