Foundation Stage Class Teacher – Donkeys
I have been teaching at Oatlands since 2001 which was my first teaching job following studying for a PGCE at York St Johns. I have a degree in environmental science and have studied for an HND in agriculture which probably explains my love for the outdoors.
Out of school I have 3 daughters, I have a small menagerie at home including a pony, a cat, a dog, a pig and chickens which keep me busy in my spare time!
Foundation Stage Class Teacher – Turtles
I am a true Yorkshire lady at heart, which explains my love of tea! I grew up in a little village near York, and I completed my teaching degree with Religious Education and Theology at York St John University in 2010. Over the last 8 years I have loved teaching EYFS and KS1 in North Yorkshire and Wiltshire.
In my spare time I love to walk my two cheeky dogs in the countryside, improve my photography skills, explore National Trust properties and eat cake.
Foundation Stage Class Teacher – Pandas
I became a teacher at Oatlands in 2014. I fell in love with the school when I was a student and have been here ever since. During my time in school I have taught across all of the year groups. I am currently based in Reception. I was born in the North East but moved to Yorkshire 13 years ago. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, eating (vegan) cake, reading books and watching horror films.
I started working at Oatlands in 2001 and throughout my time in school I have supported all year groups. I am currently supporting the Turtles Class.
Out of school I am married with 3 lovely children and my hobbies are walking the family dog and every girl’s dream… shopping!
Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant – Donkeys
I have worked as a Teaching Assistant for approximately ten years, spending most of this time working at Oatlands Infant School. Over the last three years I have been working in Reception supporting in the Donkeys Class which I find very rewarding.
In my spare time I enjoy holidays, spending time with family and friends and going for walks with my cocker spaniel Lola.
Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant – Pandas
My journey began at four years old when I started to attend Oatlands Infant School, my children have since followed in my footsteps, both becoming pupils at this lovely school.
My work in school started as a volunteer and then I worked towards becoming a Qualified Teaching Assistant. I now currently work in both the Pandas reception class and the Otters year 1 class as a teaching assistant which I love.
Out of school I live with my two beautiful daughters and our puppy. I enjoy travelling, reading, walking, cooking and most of all spending time with my wonderful family.
Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant - Pandas
I have a degree in Supporting Learning and a BA (hons) in Education. Throughout my time in the education system I have had several roles including Swimming teacher and school governor. I have also spent time working in many different areas of the education system, including a residential school for boys with special educational needs, main steam schools and taught for 10 years as a Key Stage Two teacher in an all girls’ independent school.
Starting Oatlands Infant School was a big change for me as I have always taught older children, nevertheless I thoroughly enjoy the smiles and the joy that very young children bring. They are truly inspirational even at such a young age.
Out of school I enjoy spending time with my two children and my husband… when they are around. I love walking, spending time in my garden and eating cake and lots of chocolate!
